Reflecting on Our Journey: From Knockbacks to Momentum

It was an honour to share the ChezLeon story this past Wednesday at the Health & Medtech Industry Cluster (HMIC) end of year event. An afternoon at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many passionate individuals dedicated to advancing healthcare.

Alongside Darran Leyden, I opened up about the real-world challenges of building a med-tech venture from the ground up. We traced the path from a personal search for answers for lymphoedema to the development of our patented DP-Tx™ technology. I was candid about the obstacles; the journey was certainly not without its difficult knockbacks. Yet, it was those very challenges that forged our team's resilience and fuelled a greater, more focused determination.

The heart of the conversation was the exciting momentum we are now building. It was gratifying to detail our growing traction with clinicians, patients, and partners, and to outline our course toward scaled manufacturing. This isn't just about one product; it's about proving that Australian innovation can rise to meet global health challenges and create a brighter future for patients right here.
